My Reactions:
Recently, there seems to be more and more people who suffer from dementia or Alzheimer's disease. So, more and more scientists try to find some ways to solve the problem. They are trying to find ways to help people keep themselves from the disease, and to cure it.
I have watched or read some reports or movies about dementia, and after I finished them, I was so surprised and felt so sad about it. I just cannot imagine how come a healthy will turn out to be so forgetful, and what I will become if I diagnose such disease. It must be horrible and will be very troublesome to everyone around me. It will just be a nearly nightmare!
In case people will suffer the pain of dementia when being old, they have to do some activities to curb the happen of the disease, such as reading, keeping in touch with friends, exercise, playing some more complex games, and all in all, just make their brains keep moving. Although scientists have not found effective way to cure thoroughly dementia, we have learned some useful tips to slow down the degeneration of our brains, so what we can do now is to follow the tips as far as we can.
Like the people mentioned in the article, we have to urge some older people to join the kind of club. To them, taking part in the activities of the club is not only can make them have happy times, but also keep them away from the occurrences of dementia.(268 words)

My Reactions:
I was so surprised when I finished reading this article. Decriminalizing uses of drugs？ It sounds so ridiculous to me, because we are taught not to use drugs ever from being children to adults. I always think the government should enforce the laws more efficiently, and also it should teach people the right concept of drug using. However, the government of Portugal decriminalizes the use of drug. I totally don’t understand why the law can be agreed by the government. The responsibility of the government should prohibit it, instead of urging it. Although the statistics show there seems to be a good result of the enforcement of the law, I just cannot believe how this can happen.
Maybe some viewpoints of the article are right, because they say the different opinions of Europe union and the U.S are owing to differences between cultures. Mostly, Taiwan people prefer the concepts of the U.S to those of Europe union. Maybe that is why we are so surprised and hard to accept when we know the news.
In Taiwan, we have severe laws and punishments to drug users, and to those who use drugs, mostly we will despise them. It is ashamed when one is caught using drugs. For example, in Taiwan once the entertainers are caught using drugs, it means that their careers are over.
Maybe the enforcement of the law can be very successful in Portugal, but it may not be so good when it is used in Taiwan. (260 words)

My Reactions:
Although I never use Facebook, many friends of me usually use it to connect each other. I think the most popular website, which is almost like Facebook, among Taiwan people is “Wretch”. I also have my own wretch account to make my own blog. I think the blog is a good media for people to know others’ recent lives or get in touch with them.

Before I had my own blog, I always went to some people’s blogs to get some information of their lives. I also clicked the friend list of their blogs to link to other people’s blogs. In doing so, I could link many friends who I had not seen them for a long time. I thought the feeling was so good. It was just like you were still in touch, and you could know everything they met. Furthermore, if I want to get in touch with them, all I have to do was just to leave a message to them. Then they would know who I was and gave me some response. I thought this way of keeping in touch with people was cozy.

Now, I have my own blog. I also get some benefits from the system. I will put some articles about my daily life or something I encounter, happy or sad alike. Then, I found that there will be some friends leave messages to me. They are the friends who I almost lose in touch with. They leave the messages to encourage or console me. I feel so touched. So, I will also go to their blogs to give them some response. Then, with the help of blog, I again build some good relationships with my old friends. It is very good. The feeling is just like we are always together.(308 words)

My Reactions:
Every time I think about the Muslims, I always consider them very conservative and follow their guidelines very strictly. After the outbreak of 9/11, what the make me feel is only outrage, violence and clue. From 9/11 on, many people think upon the Muslims as irrational people, and are afraid of having connections with them, for people are scared to be killed by them.

However, there are some new ideas issued by another different group of the Muslims. They use softer and gentler way to teach the next generation to understand and decipher the Koran in another different aspect, which is also one part of the soft revolution. The soft revolution also promotes women’s right. In the ancient times, women did not have their own rights, and they were thought as one part of the men. With the soft revolution, women are taught to fight for their own rights, their own goals of lives.

I think it is very good to see the Muslims’ changes because what they have done before was unbearable. Some Muslims are taught to use the vigorous means to honor their god, such as killing innocent people of the enemy country but also killing themselves at the same time, which is wrong. However, there are still lots of blind people who are encouraged to do such stupid behaviors by some vigorous activists. I think it’s time that someone has to stand up and tells the Muslims what is wrong and right, or they will keep making our world and lives in great unknown danger. Good changes in the Muslim world are what people all over the world would like to see.(285 words)

My Reactions:
I have heard some news about this kind of very cheap cars. I think it is a good idea to think up manufacturing cheaper cars for people. For most people, they would prefer having cars of their own, rather than riding motorcycles or taking massive transportations to work, for driving cars is safer and more convenient. However, generally speaking, cars are not some kinds of cheap stuffs in most people’s recognitions. Instead, people have to save their money for a very long time, and maybe they also have to borrow a large amount of money from banks; what causes the situations happening is due to the high price of cars. However, with the birth of the new kind of cheap cars, almost every person can afford one car. It not only helps the people, but also helps the economics of the country.

With some many advantages of this kind of car, the most appealing reason for why people want to buy is its low price. However, some people think the cars are so cheap that there may be something with them. People think cars cannot be with good qualities but with such low prices. They also think this kind of car is not safer, for its low price and very small size. However, they are just people’s speculations, and all we can do now is to wait until the day the car start to be sold.

If the car is really with so many advantages and cheap and safe, I also want one, too!(264 words)

My Reactions:
Almost every person knows that drink too much alcohol will do harm to one’s body, but still there are lots of people keeping drinking excessively. So now, some people think up a way to recommend people not to drink that much, but drink responsibly.

Through the suggestions printed on almost everywhere people might see, they want to influence those who drink too much little by little. With gentler and kinder tone, maybe people who drink too much will feel more comfortable to see the cautious signs and furthermore, follow by the guidelines.

I think it is a good idea to ask people not to drink excessively in a kinder way, because sometimes people will not want to listen to others’ advice if they are forced to. The tone of these signs is just like a teacher reminding the students to do something or not to do. As for me, I also don’t like others ask me to do something in a forcible tone. Instead, if people want me to do them a favor in a gentle tone, I think I would love to help them out. People always prefer to be treated politely and kindly.

However, I also wonder if the signs can really work. Because many people will not notice what was written on the bottles of alcohol, they just drink them over and throw the bottles away. I think few people will truly keep the cautious signs in mind. In my opinion, I think although it is a good idea to use the different way to recommend people not to drink too much, the result might not be so good as we considered initially.(286 words)

My Reactions:
This article talked about the introduction of the movie, “Twilight”. And recently my friend and I went to see that movie. It was a story about love between a vampire and a human girl, and the difficulties vampires and human beings would encounter when they wanted to be together. As a vampire, he had to protect his lover from other vampires’ attacks and he himself should tolerate his inner desire to suck his lover’s blood.

I think it is a cool film because without denying, the actor is so handsome and so charming. This movie makes girls all over the world be crazy, according to many English magazines. Because I was crazy about this movie, I read many reports related to it. And every of the reports all said the actor of the movie made the girls who had seen the movie fall in love with him. Now, the actor became so popular overnight just for acting as an affective vampire, and the result was he made every girl love him. He was even elected as the sexiest man of 2008.

In the movie, he just acted as a prince, so gentle, charming, considerate and handsome. Every girl thought him their prince charming. Many girls said on the magazines, “I would love to let him bite me!”Actually, when I finished seeing the movie, I also didn’t care if he bit me and wanted to be a vampire just as he was, so that we could be together forever.
